The Toril Irrigation Ditch -Acequia- is a travertine formation (made of porous limestone) with a wall shape that works as a natural aqueduct and is expected to be older than 35 000 years old. This limestone wall has been shaped during a long process that involved strong precipitation and water salts sedimentation.

Thousands of years ago it was a natural water stream at ground level that was probably used to drive water to the old Paleolitic village. After the action of the natural agents we can now see how at some kilometric points of its trail it reaches 15m of height. It is considered to be a unique natural monument in Europe and extraordinary at a global level. The thermal waters that run through the formation have an average temperature of 35ºC. The Toril Irrigation Ditch is owned by the Alicún de las Torres Baths.
