Víznar – House

Víznar is located 6 km. from the capital of Granada and belongs to the Comarca de la Vega. The municipality is born from the conduction of the waters of the Fuente de Aynadamar to the Albaicín of Granada. Its urban center is the highest in the region, which gives it a special microclimate.

La Casa de Doña Rita is an old family house from the early 20th century. It is a village house with a lot of land. It has an orchard, patio and terraces giving the feeling of a country residence, but within the town center and bordering a small square that has a chapel next to it. The construction is of popular architecture, it has two floors. The noble part of the house is the upper floor, which has higher ceilings and balconies, and on the first floor there is the service area, the chamber and the kitchen.

The jewel of the house is the water and the views to Sierra Nevada. The water is obtained from the Acequia de Aynadamar, an 11th century irrigation ditch, which irrigates the entire estate. It still maintains the same purification system that cleans the water from the pond, now a swimming pool. The terrace maintains the design of the period and offers spectacular views of the Vega de Granada.

Special attention has been placed on the furniture, maintaining original ones from the house and others items of the time, so it does not require too much atrezzo.
