Desert landscape belonging to the Badlands of the north of the province, within the Granada Geopark. Landscapes of lunar appearance, with hillside forms characterised by a complex and dense network of streams, where the limits between channels (interfluves) show sharp shapes. The development of gullies depends on climate and lithology (type of rock).
Galera is a municipality located in the southern part of the district of Huéscar in the province of Granada. It comprises the villages of Galera, La Alquería, Cortijos del cura and Buenavista and has a population of 1,100 inhabitants.
Access via tracks and country lanes.
Accommodation: Galera has a wide range of accommodation (around 200 beds in a rural hotel, cave houses and rural flats).
Catering: There are three restaurants in the town.
