Ugíjar – Street
FILM IN GRANADA HELPS YOU MANAGE YOUR FILMING PROJECTS IN OUR PROVINCE
Nestled between red clay wadis, Ugíjar is one of the most important urban areas of the Alpujarra of Granada. Its streets and squares still preserve part of the charm of the Moorish towns of medieval times, being one of the richest towns in the province in terms of historic and monumental houses.
The Adelante Street is the living testimony of the urbanism of the Alpujarra. Here we can contemplate the most outstanding characteristics of traditional architecture: narrowness, irregular sections, slate eaves, the whiteness of its façades, tinaos, adarves… These buildings have been built after a process of development of different cultural influences, giving rise to a narrow and complex distribution of the houses in its historic centre.
