BIKING ROUTE

With this cycling route, you will be able to visit the main places where the film ‘Intemperie’, winner of two Goya awards in the 2020 edition, was filmed in the Granadian municipalities of Orce, Galera, Huescar and Puebla de Don Fadrique, using as a backdrop the unique and beautiful landscapes of the Granada Geopark. It is a film directed by Benito Zambrano, produced by Juan Gordon and Pedro Uriol, based on the homonymous novel by Jesús Carrasco and starring Luis Tosar, Luis Callejo and Jaime Lopez.

It is a moving story, full of suspense and emotion, that tells a the story of a runaway boy in an inhospitable region governed by violence and punished by material and moral misery. On his way, he meets a shepherd who lives on the fringes of society. The shepherd helps him escape his persecutors who are under the command of the town foreman.

The route, which is about 35 kms, can be started in both Orce or Galera. The route can be done with normal vehicles, although the section of Galera that runs along dirt roads should be avoided in adverse weather conditions.

Galera es un municipio granadino situado en la parte meridional de la comarca de Huéscar. Limita con los municipios de Huéscar, Orce, Cúllar y Castilléjar. Comprende los núcleos de población de Galera, La Alquería, Cortijos del Cura y Buenavista.

4.YACIMIENTO ARQUEOLÓGICO VENTA MICENA

Descubierto por Josep Gibert y otros miembros del Institut Paleontógic Miquel Crusafont de Sabadell en el año 1976. En este yacimiento se encontraron los restos del llamado "Hombre de Orce" que, según sus descubridores, es una de las evidencias más antiguas de presencia humana en Eurasia, pero cuya naturaleza homínida es rechazada por otros investigadores.

Orce es un municipio granadino situado en la parte suroriental de la comarca de Huéscar. Limita con los municipios granadinos de Cúllar, Galera, Huéscar y Puebla de Don Fadrique, y con los municipios almerienses de María y Chirivel. Comprende los núcleos de Orce, Fuente Nueva y Venta Micena.

9.YACIMIENTO ARQUEOLÓGICO CASTELLÓN ALTO

El poblado de Castellón Alto se encuadra dentro de la Cultura de El Argar, durante un periodo avanzado del Bronce Pleno, y está datado entre el 1900-1600 antes de nuestra era. Consta de un hábitat que se sitúa en dos grandes unidades conectadas entre sí: el cabezo o espolón, con sus tres terrazas naturales donde se sitúan las viviendas, y la ladera del cerro contiguo.
