The municipality of Las Gabias includes in its boundaries the towns of Gabia Grande, Gabia Chica and the anejo of Híjar. It is located in the southwest of Granada, about seven kilometers from the capital, (five from the construction of the new road linking it with Granada through the Vega), bordered on the north by the municipalities of Cúllar-Vega and Vegas del Genil; east, with the municipality of Churriana de la Vega; southeast with Alhendín; south with La Malahá, and west, with the terms of Chimeneas and Santa Fe.
Fourteenth century Muslim tower of military and residential use belonging to the farmhouse of Gaviyar Al-Kubrá (Gabia la Grande). Next to the tower is attached the Casa García Benavente y Pisa of the 17th-18th century, headquarters of the Department of Culture. The enclave of both is the emblematic Plaza del Fuerte.
The Torreón complex (Tower and semi-detached house) is located in the urban center of the municipality of Las Gabias next to the Town Hall. It has good accessibility regarding its enclave. In the case of the Tower, it is limited because it is an old medieval military construction. Everything depends on what type of equipment or infrastructure is installed in case of filming (it is a protected monument with BIC character with certain dimensions). The opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
