Lanjarón – Arabic Castle

Lanjarón’s Castle has been declared Asset of Cultural Interest and has been registered as “medieval castle”, although it is popularly referred as the “Moorish Castle”. It is a defensive fortress from the 13th century located on the top of a rocky mound in the River Lanjarón’s Valley. Its privileged situation makes the views expand from part of the Alpujarra to Granada city, going through the tropical coast. It is owned by the Municipality of Lanjarón.
