Fornes – Fountain

Fornes is a beautiful village located in the region of Alhama de Granada, it is in a privileged environment surrounded by mountains and stunning natural landscapes. Its geographical location makes it an ideal destination for nature lovers and tranquility. Near the town are the towns of Jayena, Pantano de los Bermejales, Arenas del Rey, Agrón and Játar.

The “Fuente Barranco” is situated on the border with the Natural Park of the Sierras de Alhama, Tejeda and Almijara. Throughout the area we can find numerous routes that offer landscapes of great beauty. It is worth mentioning the so-called Mesa de Fornes and La Resinera, an old resin distillation factory around which a whole infrastructure was created with a village where many families lived. Currently some of its facilities have been restored and serve as an information point to visit the Park as well as having one of the most important plant nurseries in Andalusia.
