Cortes y Graena – Church

Nuestra Señora de la Presentación Church is located inside the population core of Cortes. Although its structure can look simple, the building is especially interesting because it has not been treated or modified since it was made four centuries ago. Its architectonic style has mudejar characteristics (mixes romanesque and gothic elements with arabic style), such as the typical brick floor, the chapel´s balaustrade and the main altar. The building process was initiated at the end of the 1540s decade by builder Ambrosio de Villegas and carpenter Bartolomé Meneses, and it was finished at the beginning of the 1560s. It is owned by the Cortes y Graena town hall.
