Beas de Guadix

Beas de Guadix’s El Mirador del Fin del Mundo (End of the World Viewpoint) offers an exceptional panoramic view of the deserts and badlands of northern Granada. It is one of the most recognizable locations in the Granada Geopark.

With the majestuous Sierra Nevada summits as background, from this high point one can see a big part of the Alhama River Valley, which includes all the municipalities to the right side of the Fardes River: Cortes y Graena, Beas, Marchal and Purullena.

The landscapes show traces of the region’s geological evolution: first, the limestone mountains in La Peza and Lugros in the higher zones; secondly, el Calmarate, the best preserved, multicoloured in fall, forest in Sierra Nevada; and finally, the eroded clay formations known as badlands, along with the natural monument declared Marchal Gullies.
