Jesús Calleja premieres tomorrow the program he recorded during this summer in the Alpujarra

Cuatro will broadcast the new episode of “Volando Voy” at 10:45 p.m.

Tomorrow, the residents of Granada’s Alpujarra will become the main stars of the TV program “Volando voy”, which is presented and produced by the adventurer Jesús Calleja and is broadcast on Thursdays at 10:45 pm on Cuatro. This episode was recorded during last summer in various municipalities of the Alpujarra and constitutes the sixth season’s third chapter. It is dedicated to the so-called “empty Spain” and to the need that many villages and towns have to attract new neighbors and retain those they already have.

The recording of the program, which has had the collaboration of the Patronato Provincial de Turismo and the technical assistance of the “Film in Granada” office, took place at the end of July in the Granadian municipalities of Soportújar, Pampaneira, Capileira and La Taha. Here Calleja interviewed many of the inhabitants and gave them a ride in his well-known helicopter.

The filming began in the small nucleus of Fondales (La Taha), where the presenter managed to bring together the oldest residents of the area with the youngest so that they could exchange their experiences and debate about life in rural areas. Later in the same location, the program’s “main mission” was carried out. It mainly consisted of cleaning a historic ditch in Sierra Nevada. This action was made in collaboration with 50 volunteers from the MemoLab project of the University of Granada.

The production of this chapter of “Volando voy” in the province of Granada meant the week-long trip to the Alpujarra of 25 professionals from the Zanskar production company, which is the main producer for Mediaset Spain. The team is led by Jesús Calleja and is made up of camera operators, scriptwriters, producers, sound technicians, video-editing professionals and it even had the support of a special helicopter to shoot high-definition aerial images.

The provincial deputy for Culture and Historical Memory, Fátima Gómez, has mentioned that “the program’s production crew has had access to Film In Granada’s advice and help since the locating phase started”. She also said that “the film office is currently working to attract productions to our province; productions that have the power to revitalize the economic activity of municipalities and consolidate the Granadian audiovisual sector ”.

Gómez recalled that “in its first months of operation Film In Granada has also helped in the search for locations and management of permits for TVE documentaries “Guardianes del Patrimonio” and “La Aventura del Saber” and is now working on the pre -production of two feature films”.
