Calahonda Beach, belonging to the Carchuna-Calahonda Autonomous Local Authority, is an extensive beach of coarse sand that has one of the deepest and most transparent waters of the whole of the Costa Tropical, hence the name Calahonda. It is a beach known for its natural beauty and family atmosphere.

The nearby cliffs are rich in waterfowl and rock plants, many of which are genetically connected to those of North Africa. One of the best places to observe these ecosystems is the Calahonda cliffs.

The average water temperature, around 22º in summer and 17º in winter, allows different water sports to be practised all year round, such as diving, sailing and windsurfing.
