Játar – Picnic area

Játar is a charming village that benefits from a privileged location, surrounded by nature and mountains. It is located in the region of Alhama de Granada, in the foothills of the Sierra de Alhama, which gives a picturesque and relaxing landscape. It borders the municipalities of Arenas del Rey and Alhama de Granada.

This recreative area is located in the Nacimiento Gordo, the most important of the village and from which it is supplied. The flow not used as drinking water makes its fluvial course through the Barranco de la Cueva (River “el Bao” or River “el Bajo”), connecting meters below with the Barranco del Rincón. Later it joins the Hornillo River and this one joins the Játar River, which will flow, at the foot of the San Isidro de Arenas del Rey Hermitage, into the Los Bermejales Swamp.
