Trevélez – River
FILM IN GRANADA HELPS YOU MANAGE YOUR FILMING PROJECTS IN OUR PROVINCE
Trevélez is crowned as one of the highest villages in Spain, located at 1476 metres above sea level. Located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, its gastronomic and hospitality offer has crossed national borders thanks to its incomparable hams. Visitors can go to some of the drying sheds where they are produced.
The historic centre of this municipality has a peculiar structure, which preserves the typical Alpujarran architecture of steep streets, small white houses with plain roofs, chimneys and “tinaos”. The Siete Lagunas, the Pico del Rey or the Mulhacén are just some of the sensational natural areas that contribute to make a richer landscape in the area.
The Trevélez River, whose waters are fed by the thawing of the highest peaks of Sierra Nevada, stands out as one of the best trout rivers in Southern Spain. On its way through the municipality it creates a crystal clear pool of water used as a natural swimming pool, located next to the bridge on the local road from Órgiva to Laujar.
