Zafarraya – Path
FILM IN GRANADA HELPS YOU MANAGE YOUR FILMING PROJECTS IN OUR PROVINCE
Zafarraya is a small municipality in the west of Granada, bordering the province of Malaga. This place was a settlement of Neanderthals, as evidenced by the remains of the so-called Man of Zafarraya, dated 30,000 years ago.
Here is located the Polje of Zafarraya, the largest karst depression of the Iberian Peninsula, which makes it has an extensive and fertile plain surrounded by impressive mountains. All this gives the town a surprising and unique landscape.
The Path of Colors is a path that takes us from the town of El Almendral of Zafarraya to the recreational area of Las Parideras, from it you can see stunning views of the entire Polje de Zafarraya, but the peculiarity and what makes this landscape unique is the Land Art. The entire trail is full of this stream of contemporary art in which the landscape and the artwork are closely linked. Thanks to its creator, Jes Gamart, in all this area we can find an extraordinary sample of Land Art, pioneer in Andalusia, which makes this trail a magical place.
