Pórtugos – Fountain
FILM IN GRANADA HELPS YOU MANAGE YOUR FILMING PROJECTS IN OUR PROVINCE
Pórtugos is a village situated in the western part of the Alpujarra, between the Poqueira and Trevélez cliffs. The town centre has the typical Alpujarran style, with its porches, balconies and terraces adorned with flower pots, in contrast with the spotless whiteness of its houses, built on steep streets, between winding parapets and the characteristic ‘tinaos’, creating neighbourhoods of great beauty. This town is a scene of spectacular landscapes, some of them with majestic natural water springs.
Nestled on the outskirts of the municipality is the Fuente Agria, a beautiful waterfall dyed in red by the iron-rich waters that spring from “El Chorreón” and have been excavating the rock over time. The natural spring has several pipes through which its ferruginous waters flow, which are said to have health benefits.
