The Tribute´s Tower is a defensive structure belonging to the old Muslim citadel of Huéscar. The tower was a military observation post that, in the year 1434, suffered important damages because of the Christian incursion at the hands of the Castilians.

It is a quadrangular structure made of rammed earth in which the corners are reinforced to make them more resistant to attack. It is precisely on the exterior where materials extracted from other nearby buildings are reused, such as the epigraphed ashlars belonging to a Roman necropolis near Galera, the round columns used in three corners and a lintel inserted in one of the walls.

It has three floors above street level, with a total preserved height of 10.5 meters. The first floor is built with remains of ancient Roman constructions and the rest of the floors are formed by rammed earth walls. In its interior there is a large central buttress that runs up and down.

After its defensive function, the tower had other uses, such as housing and stores, the latter attached to it. There are numerous traces left on the walls of this building as evidence of these functions, as we can see traces of walled doors and chimney.
