FILM IN GRANADA HELPS YOU MANAGE YOUR FILMING PROJECTS IN OUR PROVINCE
The Museum of Popular Arts and Customs “Pedro Antonio de Alarcón”, which is installed in an old mansion owned by the Municipality of Capileira, is dedicated to the life and work of Pedro Antonio de Alarcón, famous writer of the 19th century.
In its beginnings, this place was reserved as the House of Culture and Residence for Artists. It was not until a few years later, in 1979, when it became an exhibition center, showing the popular arts and customs of the area.
The building shows part of the traditional architecture of the Alpujarra. It has two floors, divided into two large warehouses, where all kinds of implements and tools that have been used over time by the people of the region are exposed, most of these pieces donated by the neighbors of Capileira.
