TVE’s (Spanish Television Corporation) educational program has interviewed a number of experts from Granada in various locations with the advice of “Film in Granada”
The TVE (Spanish Public Television) educational program “La Aventura del Saber”, which has been on the air since 1992, has just shot a new historical documentary in the city of Granada for its next season. The documentary addresses the well-known rivalry and palace artifices between the historical figures of Aixa and Isabel de Solís (Zoraida), the two wives of the Nasrid Sultan Muley Hacén and queens of Granada during the second half of the 15th century.
The recording of this widely-known format has been advised by “Film in Granada”, the Provincial Council’s office of cinema and filming promotion. This part of the project has taken place during four working days in various locations in Granada, such as the palaces, towers and gardens of the Alhambra, the Palace of Dar al-Horra, the Corral del Carbón and the Palacete Alcázar Genil.
To carry out this project a number of experts on history and culture studies were interviewed. Among these high-level advisers we could find professor of Semitic Studies at the University of Granada Bárbara Boloix, lawyer and former director of “El Legado Andalusí” (Andalusian public foundation) Jerónimo Páez, doctor in Medieval History Virgilio Martínez Enamorado, director of the Francisco Ayala Foundation Manuel Gómez Ros, and writer Brígida Gallego Coín, who is also the author of the book “Isabel de Solís-Soraya” (Almed, 2010).
The production of this new episode of “La Aventura del Saber” has made a full team of professionals led by the director and screenwriter Isabel Uceda García move from the Spanish Radio Television (RTVE) production center in Prado del Rey to the province of Granada for five days. Film in Granada has of course been present during the whole process, showing help when needed.
During its first months of life, “Film in Granada” has also been collaborating in the search for locations, managing all the matters related to permits and helping with the shooting of a new chapter of the program “Volando voy” by Jesús Calleja (Cuatro TV) in La Alpujarra. The film office has also been present on another edition from the cultural series “Guardianes del Patrimonio” by La 2 (TVE). Both projects are pending release next fall.
