Gorafe – Viewpoint
FILM IN GRANADA HELPS YOU MANAGE YOUR FILMING PROJECTS IN OUR PROVINCE
Gorafe is a village in the province of Granada surrounded by an extraordinary landscape, with its badlands, the Gor river canyon and its hundreds of dolmens, the highest density of prehistoric burial mounds in Spain. It is an ideal place for archaeology and cultural or rural tourism. Among its more than 415 caves, the most outstanding are the cave houses bequeathed by the Almohad settlement of “Los Algarves”, from the 12th century, where the Muslims settled.
The viewpoint settles on the remains of an ancient castle, a medieval fortress now crowned by the image of the Virgin of Fatima. It offers impressive panoramic views of the village accompanied by the rocky walls that surround it. On the other side you can see the cemetery and the Algarves, medieval cave houses dug into the rocks.
